In Latin America, child labor is a huge issue; there is an estimated 26% of children who are apart of the work force. In other words, there is an estimated 250 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 who are subjected to child labor. Many of those children work in agriculture and for very long hours! Specifically, in Colombia there is an estimated 2.5 million children who are forced to work to support their families. Also, in Guatemala, there are five thousand children between the ages of 6 and 14 who were found in secret and illegal workshops in the capital region of Guatemala making fireworks and other explosives. There were nine deaths and four injuries that were recorded to date.
