Japan has successfully addressed the issue of child labor. They were able to address this problem through the Labor Standard Law. This law provides full protection of young child workers. It prohibits employers from hiring children under age 15 unless they complete their nine years of education. Also, a child age 13 or younger cannot be asked to work without the permission from the Labor Standard Administration Office. Lastly, a child under 18 cannot work extra time, they cannot work late hours, or are not allowed to do dangerous tasks.
